This chair is another example of one of my "what ifs". I had this thought, why not have a chair with flat arm rests. Of course thinking about it and doing it are two different things. There is always the challenge of how do you make it work. I made regular arm rests and sawed one side flat and then glued a thick cedar board to the flat side of the supporting arm rest. Problem solved! For the vertical back rests I sawed small pieces of cedar
making them flat only on two sides so as to retain the rustic look, then fitted them into the supporting horizontal pieces.
