A trip to the barber shop gave me the idea for this coat/hat stand. All materials are balsam fir. The center pole is about 6 feet tall. The top pegs are about 8-9 inches long and the lower pegs 6-7 inches long. I made a similar one that my wife uses on an end of the hallway wall. It was a narrow wall which used to have a tall plant growing in front of it. After repainting the hallway and changing the flooring she wanted something different next to the wall. Even though we have contemporary furniture, the stand doesn't clash with anything else and we use it for her purses and my hats!
